According to a recent survey of the American Montessori Society (AMS) and Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) school databases, there are fewer than 40 Montessori high schools in the United States.

Projected to open in Fall 2020, South Bend Montessori High School will represent an innovative model for providing a Montessori high school education in an urban environment where 1/3 of classroom seats are reserved for low-income families.

Some features under development:

  • One-year transitional 9th grade environment paired with a 3-year (10th - 12th) curricular cycle

  • Compatibility with Indiana School Choice funding

  • Replicable technology solutions for delivery of base curriculum and co-creation of elective courses with classroom guides
